Mbale Heroes FC needed a late goal to salvage a point against UPDF FC as the two teams faced off in Bombo on Wednesday.
The Surgeons who had had a torrid start in top flight football since gaining promotion, at least were able to offset the heavy defeat (6-0) to Kitara FC last week.
UPDF FC took the lead in the 19th minute through veteran striker Samuel Kayondo Ssekamate and the Army side seemed destined for maximum points.
However, Hillary Adima drew the game level, scoring in the 84th minute thus helping Mbale Heroes to earn a point.
The draw means UPDF FC move up to fifth place on 17 points while Mbale Heroes remain second from bottom on 9 points.
The two teams will return to action next week with Mbale Heroes FC hosting Vipers SC on 20th December while UPDF FC will visit Soltilo Bright Stars FC.
