Former Soltilo Bright Stars and Express FC coach Baker Mbowa has been appointed as new head coach at Mbale Heroes.
Mbowa replaces Asaph Mwebaze who was officially sacked this week after serving a 28-day suspension from the club citing indiscipline.
Mubarak Wamboya has served as interim in the past two matches – defeats to Maroons and NEC away and home respectively.
However, it remains unclear whether he will be part of the coaching staff under Mbowa whose main task is to help the side survive relegation as they sit bottom of the table with only nine points after the first round.
The first task for ex-KCCA forward will be in the Stanbic Uganda Cup where Mbale Heroes makes a long trip to Gayaza to face Simba FC in the Round of 64.
The Surgeons have been managed by three tacticians now after Richard Malinga started the season in charge.
