Michigan State Spartans vs Mississippi Rebels analysis
Ole Miss is a fairly well-balanced team. They score 118.8 points per 100 possessions (24th) and allow 95.5 points per 100 possessions (21st).
As for Michigan State, they also average 118.8 points per 100 possessions but surrender just 90.4 points per 100 possessions (fifth).
Ole Miss had some sensational shooting, but this season, they’re shooting 44.6% from the floor (158th) and 34.8% from 3-point range (122nd).
This is noticeably different than their performance against Iowa State.
Michigan State boasts the best defense against 3-point shots, allowing just 27.8% of them to fall in favor of the opposing team.
Michigan State vs Ole Miss pick
Ole Miss was red-hot against Iowa State, but I don’t see that happening against Michigan State. Michigan State’s offense isn’t exciting overall, but its defense is a thorn in the side of all opponents.
Ole Miss is going to see some regression shooting the ball, and I’m not sure they can score enough to beat or cover against Michigan State.
