Monday horse racing tips

  • MARKET RASEN
    3.25: Letterston Lady 7/4 (1.5pts)
  • WINDSOR
    6.45: Jettie’s Run 8/11 (1.5pts)

Letterston Lady

High Fibre put in some respectable efforts on his first four runs over hurdles but with them each being in maidens it seemed like he’d never win.

The form has worked out quite well from some of those so he might be well-weighted.

His first win at Worcester late last month came when a comfortable 1/6f winner so it’s still uncertain how good this horse could be, especially at just six-years-old.

The horses that have beaten High Fibre are all still rated in the 110s but not beyond so it’s a tough one to predict how he’ll fare over 4f further today.

Prince Imperial was only just out of the winners’ enclosure last time out when giving away 17lb to Mammies Boy, by just a neck.

While he’s up another 2lb for that effort he sets the standard here and could easily put in another big performance while running off top-weight.

Letterston Lady is looking to be well-weighted though, she beat Bethpage by a neck last month.

That mare not only won on seasonal return back in March before placing very well behind Greyval, also won next time out and shows solid form that will only benefit Letterston Lady.

This mare returned from a 695 day break in April and despite the length, placed a close third.

Then to win on her next outing shows she really should be well-weighted which only boosts her chances today with her form also boosted.

Jettie’s Run

This filly beat Bermuda Longtail at Kempton on her last run in October and that horse went on to place a very close second in listed company.

The filly also placed second in a Class 2 on seasonal return, along with winning a 7f novice event a couple of weeks after placing behind today’s tip.

Her form progressed over 1m but that doesn’t lessen today’s prospect making her seasonal debut with a lot of promise.

Trainer Ralph Beckett often does well with runners ready to make an instant impact on the season and he’s operating at a solid strike-rate coming into this too.

She does have to contend with a 7lb penalty today but she’s still odss-on for a good reason.
