Monday racing tips
- Newcastle
4.30: Monochromix top 2 – 9/5 (1pt) - Southwell
4.12: I Play County 3/1 (1pt)
4.42: La Pinsonniere 7/4 (1pt)
Monochromix
This horse has a solid win chance let alone a top 2 finish.
As this is a 3m contest it separates a few and the likes of Court At Slip would have appealed if he wasn’t coming into this off a 417 day break.
Monochromix has strong potential over fences now though down to a dangerous weight after looking like the step up to 3m is a step in the right direction.
I Play County
Pulled up at Wetherby back in November for his hurdle debut but can be forgiven for that as it was revealed he had an irregular heartbeat.
Comes into this after a decent break to recover and be stronger and given the fact he was 11/4 for that Class 3 novice hurdle he could be well priced and well weighted to strike here against some novice hurdlers not really making a mark just yet.
Cheltenham Festival tips
La Pinsonniere
La Pinsonniere’s win ahead of Nap Hand hasn’t exactly been boosted form wise as that horse didn’t really run well enough at Newbury on Saturday.
Her second placed finish behind Starcrossed Lover has been boosted a little though with that horse running on to win by 17 lengths in January, albeit she found the Grade 2 at Kempton too tough.
Jasmine Bliss has only been seen three times over hurdles placing well behind Holloway Queen, which is solid form before winning last time out at Ludlow.
La Pinsonniere makes a bit more of an appeal at a stronger price at this stage for Nicky Henderson under Nico de Boinville.
