Tanzania giants Simba SC joined the Caf Confederation Cup knock out party with a game to spare after holding Angola’s Bravos do Maquis to a 1-1 draw in Luanda.

Leonel Ateba scored the equaliser for the Msimbazi who had gone behind in the first half to earn the side a deserved point that puts them on 10 points, second in Group A, one behind leaders CS Constantine.

With three points better than Bravos who they beat in the reverse fixture 1-0 in Dar es Salaam, they confirm their place in the quarter finals due to a better head-to-head stat.

They are joined by holders Zamalek of Egypt, Stellenbosch of South Africa, RS Berkane and USM Alger with one more final round to play.

The sixth and final round of group matches will be played on Sunday January 19.
