It is a new dawn for the administration of Netball Uganda. In comes Joycelyn Ucanda, the former manager of the national team (She Cranes) for a four-year tenure (2024-2028).

Ucanda was declared unopposed during the elective assembly at Copper Chimney Restaurant, Lugogo on Saturday, 26th October 2024.

A delegate from National Insurance Corporation (NIC), Ucanda takes over the seat from Sarah Babirye whose tenure was disrupted by a suspension before the normalization committee led by lawyer and sports administrator Moses Mwase took over for the past year.

“Glory to God.” She sighed after the victory before delegates.

A recognition of these institutions and their pivotal role in the growth of netball. This is a sign that we shall collaborate in order to excel. I thank you so much for your assurances and pledge to sail together to Greater Heights. Aluta continua” she spoke.
