Franco Colapinto is quickly proving to be one of the quickest drivers in Formula 1, but he’s perhaps in too much of a rush elsewhere in his private life.
The Argentine has been one of the shocks of the season in F1, being called up by Williams to replace Logan Sargeant and instantly rivalling new teammate Alex Albon.

Despite a very unremarkable Formula 2 career, Colapinto now looks like a future superstar, and everyone is desperate to get their hands on him.
Spanish talk show El Hormiguero were the first to do so during a break in the 2024 calendar.
And during a fascinating interview, there was a surprise interruption when Colapinto began struggling with an itch.
Presenter Pablo Motos asked what was wrong, and the 21-year-old replied: “I don’t know, dude, something’s bothering me in my back.”
Colapinto then stood up and realised he had a security tag still on his trousers and said: “I still have the thing on!
“I didn’t steal them. I went to the store to get something to look nice and when I came out it made a lot of noise, but they let me go.”
The presenter then commented: “There’s no solution for that, the only way is to go back to the store.”
The moment will likely endear Colapinto to even more fans, having quickly won over plenty of support for some key moments on and off the track.
Revealing more about his unexpected rise to stardom, the youngster explained how it began in difficult circumstances when he left home at 14 to compete in Europe, living alone in Italy.
“I was skinny as I hardly knew how to cook anything, I don’t miss it,” he said. “I’ve always fought and dreamed of this.”

Colapinto already has another battle on his hands. Despite his stellar performances for Williams, he won’t get a seat with the British team next season as Albon and new signing Carlos Sainz are already contracted for 2025 and beyond.
Places are quickly drying up on next season’s grid, with his only potential landing spots at Visa Cash App RB and Kick Sauber.
Williams team principal James Vowles has said he’s spoken to the latter team, insisting that Colapinto ‘deserves to be in F1’.
