New York City is about to be the epicenter of the baseball world.

The New York Yankees and New York Mets both find themselves in their respective LCS, and will both be hosting home games on consecutive days.

This is the first time since 2000 that the two New York franchises find themselves in the LCS at the same time.

A year in which they ended up facing one another in the World Series, as the Yankees defeated the Mets four games to one.

Fast forward 24 years later and there is once more a chance for the Subway Series to take the World Series stage.

The Yankees are up 1-0 on the Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS, with home field advantage, while the Mets pulled even against the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-1 in LA, swiping home field advantage back to Queens.

It is an exciting time to be in New York for both series, however there is one gigantic difference.

Ticket prices.

Good news for Yankees fans…not so much for Mets fans.

According to StubHub, the cheapest ticket to get into Yankee Stadium is $75.

The cheapest ticket to get into Citi Field is $206.

There are standing room only tickets going for cheaper at Citi Field, but if you’re looking to sit in an actual seat, it’s going to cost you.

The last time the Yankees hosted an ALCS game was in 2022, when they got swept by the Houston Astros 4-0.

The last time the Mets hosted an NLCS game was nearly a decade ago in 2015, when they swept the Chicago Cubs 4-0.

The residents of Queens appear to be hungrier than their Brooklyn counterparts.

However, Yankees fans seem to be as restless as ever.

The franchise with the most championships in all of US professional sports with 27, hasn’t won a World Series title since 2009.

Of course Mets fan will laugh at their pinstripe brethren and just shake their head.

The Mets haven’t won the World Series in 38 years, going all the way back to 1986.

They will be hoping this is the year they finally snap their title drought.

They just have to go through Major League Baseball’s best team to do it, in the 98-win Dodgers.

So far they look to be up to the task.

No matter if you’re a Yankees fan or a Mets fan, or couldn’t care less about either, all eyes will be on New York City in the upcoming days, as they officially hold the title of being the baseball capital of the world…at least for now.

Ticket prices be damned.
