NFL betting tips: Dallas Cowboys v New York Giants preview and picks

Week 13 in the NFL will be all about Thanksgiving Day as the USA celebrates their national holiday with three games of American Football.

The action starts with the Chicago Bears’ trip to the Detroit Lions, while the primetime slot goes to NFC East strugglers, the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas have a slim chance of making the playoffs with their 4-7 record, but the same cannot be said for the Giants, who prop up the division with a 2-9 record.

As divisional rivals, the two teams meet twice a season, and they clashed in Week 4, with Dallas running out 20-15 winners.

Dallas Cowboys -3.5

Mike McCarthy’s team restored some pride and hope on Sunday as they recorded a shock 34-26 victory over the Washington Commanders.

In a chaotic game at the Northwest Stadium, both teams scored late touchdowns to keep the fans entertained, but it was the Cowboys that prevailed on the road.

Dallas ended a five-match losing run with that victory, and they should be able to overpower the Giants.

Brian Daboll’s team look to have checked out for the season, and several members of their locker room appear unhappy with the decision to release quarterback Daniel Jones last week.

Offensively, the Giants have struggled all year, and their 14.8 points per game average is the worst in the NFL.

Cooper Rush Over 220.5 Passing Yards

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury, but backup Cooper Rush has shown he can fill the void.

Rush threw for 354 yards against the Houston Texans in Week 11, while he threw for 247 yards and recorded two touchdowns in Sunday’s win over the Commanders.

If Rush can continue to keep things simple and take advantage of whatever the Giants’ defence gives him, he should be able to pass the 220.5-yard mark this week.

CeeDee Lamb Over 66.5 Passing Yards

The Giants defence have struggled to contain elite wide receivers and CeeDee Lamb falls into that category.

Only Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson have more receiving yards than Lamb this season, and he has already dominated the Giants secondary this season.

In the Week 4 win, he caught seven of his eight targets for 98 yards, and he has formed a good partnership with Rush, catching 18 passes for 160 yards in two matches.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. Over 50.5 Rushing Yards

If the Giants are to have any joy, it is likely to come on the ground through running back Tyrone Tracy Jr.

The rookie has collected 587 rushing yards at an average of 5.1 per carry this season, and he faces a Cowboys defence that allows 150.5 rushing yards per game on average, the second-worst total in the NFL behind the hapless Carolina Panthers.
