Two-time defending Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs are in play-off action for the first time this season as the number one seeds in the AFC take on the Houston Texans as part of their journey as they look to be come the first ever team to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy in three consecutive years.

The Chiefs went 15-2 in their regular season but one of those defeats did come against the Texans in Week 16.

The number one seed in the NFC also return to action as the Detroit Lions host the sixth seed Washington Commanders side who got the better of the NFC South champions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in last weekend’s Wild Card round.

Sunday’s action sees four Wild Card round winners go head to head starting in Pennsylvania where the NFC East champions the Philadelphia Eagles host the NFC West champions the Los Angeles Rams at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday evening.

The Rams hold the better head-to-head record of the two sides in previous play-off meetings but the Eagles won when they two sides met in the regular season back in Week 12 in Los Angeles.

The final Divisional play-off match in 2025 sees the Buffalo Bills host the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC, meaning the same four sides from the conference have reached this stage of the play-offs for the second season in a row, albeit with different fixtures to this time 12 months ago.

The Bills are the favourites and higher seed heading into the fixture in upstate New York, but the Ravens did get the better of the two sides in their previous match up this season.
