The buzzer-beater against Baylor sent fans, pundits, and teammates wild – even if they still had to win it in the extra period.

Going into the dying seconds of the fourth quarter, Colorado were down 31-24 and Sanders needed to find some magic.

And Sanders almost provided it on a 2nd and 10 with 12 seconds on the clock.

He launched the ball downfield to Will Sheppard but somehow the wide receiver allowed the ball to bounce out of his grasp with a walk-in touchdown seemingly a certainty.

Sanders though, would not be deterred and on the next player he launched a 44-yard dine to LaJohntay Wester.

As Wester, and the rest of the Buffaloes, jumped up to get ready for the extra point, which levelled the game, the Fox broadcast cut to a Baylor player.

No.24 Corey Gordon Jr looked flabbergasted with the game torn from their grip.

In OT, Micah Welch put Colorado ahead with a one yard run and Baylor, with the chance to respond, looked set grab a dramatic touchdown.

Bears running back Dominic Richardson launched towards the goal-line but star cornerback Travis Hunter forced a fumble to win the game.

A pitch invasion ensued and praise came from all quarters with Sanders (and Hunter) starring again.

“Shedeur Sanders is UNBELIEVEABLE,” former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III exclaimed on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pundit Skip Bayless took to social media too and was effusive about Sanders.

He said in a video: “I’m sure some people out there, some scouts maybe, don’t love Shedeur Sanders because he’s a little too flashy, little too rich for a college kid.

“Hey, all I know is that I would take him first overall in the draft if I didn’t take his teammate Travis Hunter who just saved the game with a dislodging tackle on the one-yard line after Shedeur came up with two late clutch touchdown passes. The first one was dropped the second one caught.

“This kid Shedeur Sanders is as mentally and physically clutch tough as you will find.

“He can move, not like his daddy – but he can move, he can escape. He’s still under pressure way too much.

“And he has a live, accurate rocket arm.

“I’m talking first overall pick, NFL. Are you watching this kid?”

Sanders himself revealed a Hail Mary, was the perfect term for his clutch touchdown.

“I knew I was going to get a lot of pressure,” Sanders said. “So I was like: ‘OK, cool. Let’s go ahead and roll.’ We put Travis (Hunter) backside because he’s going to get all that attention and LaJohntay was there on the outside.

“They’re not going to think we’re going to throw him the ball. So I roll left, everybody went in the middle of the end zone and I just trusted God. I just threw it up to God and God answered the prayer.”

Teammate Hunter, like Sanders, was ready to prove some of his own haters wrong.

Explaining his game-winning forced fumble, he said: “Shedeur told me to go out there and get the ball.

“So I told him: ‘I got you,’ and I kept my word. I knew I had to tackle. I knew they were coming at me. They don’t think I could tackle, so I had to show them.”
