Uganda’s ambassadors at the 11th edition of the All Africa University Games, Nkumba University are on a mission possible in Lagos city, Nigeria.
The football delegation was officially flagged off by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Jude Lubega on Thursday, 19th September 2024 at the university.
Prof Lubega urged the team players and officials to die a little whilst at the games that bring together all the universities in Africa.
“Represent us gallantly. I urge you to play with passion and win the trophy” Prof. Lubega remarked.

The cast of players is led by the talented midfield maestro Kennedy Ssewankambo who is also the team captain.
Ssewankambo hinted of their preparations and readiness to make history.
“We trained well as a team. We are aware of the challenge in thy midst and the task now is to play our hearts out and make good history” Ssewankambo stated.
Dr Sulaiman Bbosa, the head coach stated that the team players have been prepared physically and psychologically; ready to take on the continent’s finest teams.
“Our players have been prepared physically and psychologically. We know that we are taking on the continent’s best teams and players. Therefore, we shall live to the billing” Dr Bbosa noted.

Nkumba University qualified to represent Uganda after winning the 2023-2024 Uganda University Football League, overcoming UCU 3-1 in the final played at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo in Kampala city.
Prior to departure, the team was boosted with brand new sets of jerseys courtesy of Flight Tech Consults.
Flight Tech Consults also vowed to handsomely pay for every goal scored with Ug.Shs 1,000,000 and another bonus of Ug.Shs 5,000,000 for the trophy lifted.
The championship officially kicks off on Friday, 20th September 2024 and shall climax by 29th September 2024.
The event will be co-hosted by the University of Lagos and Lagos State University.
The official opening ceremony will be at the UNILAG sports complex on Saturday, 21st September 2024.
The event returns to Nigeria for the first time in 20 years.
Besides football, there are 16 other sports disciplines that entail Athletics, Judo, Karate, basketball, handball, tennis, cricket, netball, rugby, table tennis, scrabble, chess and other indoor games.
