2024 All Africa University Games (Group B) – Football:

Nkumba University 2-0 University of Jos

Nkumba University commenced their journey at the 2024 All Africa University Games with victory in football during group B.

The reigning Uganda University Football League champions overcame University of Jos 2-0 during a group B contest at the University of Lagos sports center on Sunday, 22nd September 2024.

On Monday, 23rd September 2024, Nkumba University takes on the hosts, University of Lagos during the afternoon contest.

The Ugandan ambassadors will then play against Universite Julius Nyerere de Kankan on Tuesday at mid-day and complete their games on Wednesday against University of Development Studies (10 am).

The 11th Africa University Games are co-hosted by the University of Lagos and Lagos State University.

The event returned to Nigeria for the first time in 20 years.

Besides football, there are 16 other sports disciplines that entail basketball, handball, tennis, cricket, netball, rugby, table tennis, scrabble, chess and other indoor games.

These games are rhyming along the theme “Unite, Compete and Excel”.
