On the sidelines of the official visit for the president of International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach, there were key highlights behind the scenes.
One of such moments was when Her Royal Highness, the Queen of Buganda Kingdom, Nnabagereka Lady Sylvia Nagginda Luswata hosted the hosted the Wife of the IOC president Claudia Bach.
This meeting was held at the Nnabagereka’s office found at Bulange Mengo.

Claudia Bach was accompanied by the Assistant Secretary General Lydia Gloria Dhamuzungu, Belinda Blick and Jackie Rukare.
During the meeting, the Queen shared about the various initiatives that she is spearheading in Uganda, collaborating with some government agencies, ministries, and NGOs.
Among others is the Ekisakate project (Enclosure), where children and youth between ages of 6- 18 are taught and mentored in various life skills.

Claudia Bach admires the arts in Kasubi Tombs
Nabagereka also shared about ‘Obuntubulamu’, which she believes is needed in all spheres of life.
As she engages in children and youth, she emphasizes the need to tackle unemployment.
Currently, the Nnabagereka Foundation has started establishing a Nabagereka Development foundation Centre on a 100-acre space, which will educate people while incorporating sports to foster growth. As a patron of Special Olympics in Uganda, she has seen first handholding sports has so many values that fosters development wholesomely.
She believes sports can drive national development and help youth overcome depression among other challenges of life.
Claudia Bach appreciated the Queen’s education initiatives, bridging school gaps of the learning areas she is involved in.

She highlighted the importance of supporting individuals with mental disabilities through exposing them to sports and other tertiary skills.
Mrs. Bach praised Uganda’s optimism and commended the work of Nnabagereka and the Government of Uganda.
The visit also featured discussions with Belinda Blick and Jackie Rukare on empowering girls through Information Technology (IT) and Artifical Intelligence (AI).
The day concluded with a tour of the historic Kasubi Tombs, a UNSECO designated tourism site in Uganda.

Bach and his entourage toured the Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC), held key meetings with athletes and former Olympians, the prime minister of Uganda Rt Hon. Robinah Nabanja, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni before he was hosted by a send-off dinner graced by the Government chief whip Hon. Hamson Obua.
