Manchester City make the trip to the City Ground for the Premier League’s opening game of the weekend looking to make it three wins in a row in all competitions for the first time since early January as they look to reclaim third spot in the league table.
Pep Guardiola’s side’s 1-0 win at Tottenham in their last league outing saw them close the gap on the top three to just a point, and a win on Saturday would see them climb back into third place in the league for the first time since November.
The four-time defending Premier League champions have struggled away from home this season, with eight teams in the league having better league records on the road this season than the current holders.
The Citizens have lost three of their last five matches on their travels ahead of their trip to the City Ground on Saturday lunchtime, though those have come against PSG, Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Nottingham Forest will be looking to get back to winning ways against the underfiring reigning champions this weekend after picking up only one point from their last three games since their notable 7-0 win over Brighton at the start of last month.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side head into March still sat in the unlikely position of third place, which seemed unfathomable at the start of the campaign following their 17th placed finish last time out, but Champions League football is a real possibility for them next year.
The East Midlands side sit just a point ahead of their opponents and only two ahead of Chelsea heading into the weekend, so could find themselves dropping outside the top four if results were to go against them this week.
However, just two defeats at home in the league all season and an unbeaten run at the City Ground stretching back to November and consists of seven wins and two draws stands them in good stead for tomorrow’s big clash.
Manchester City have won four of the five clashes between the two sides since Nottingham Forest’s return to the Premier League, drawing the other, but Saturday’s hosts haven’t so much as scored against the Citizens in their last three meetings together.
