Nottingham Forest head into Tuesday night’s tie with Manchester United in jubilant mood and strong form having booked their place in the semi finals of the FA Cup on Saturday evening, securing a fourth consecutive win in the process.
The weekend’s win over Brighton on the south coast sees Nuno Espirito Santo’s side just two wins away from winning the club its first major trophy in 35 years, putting the cherry on top of what has been a fantastic season for the East Midlands side this campaign.
Forest have defied all expectations this season by winning 16 of their 29 Premier League games so far this season (only runaway league leaders Liverpool have more) and currently find themselves third in the table, six points clear of defending champions Manchester City in fifth, and in line to be playing Champions League football next season.
Only Liverpool and Arsenal have better home records than Nuno’s side in the Premier League this season, who are unbeaten at the City Ground in any competition since November, leaving with a 10-match undefeated streak in front of their home fans, of which they’ve won eight and conceded just one in their last four.

Manchester United’s 3-0 win at Leicester in their last outing before the international break means they make the trip to Nottinghamshire unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions, and in their last six when discounting penalty shootouts.
Ruben Amorim’s side head into the midweek round of matches 13th in the Premier League table, still seven points shy of the top half in what has been a turbulent campaign both on and off the pitch for the 20-time champions of England.
The Red Devils have lost only one of their last eight away games in all competitions, a run which includes opponents such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Real Sociedad.
The Manchester side have only won one of their last four on the road, though that did come in their most recent outing, also in the East Midlands, and Forest’s rivals Leicester.
Nottingham Forest have won back to back Premier League meetings against Manchester United for the first time in 1992 following their 3-2 win at Old Trafford back in December, ending a run of eight consecutive league defeats against the opponents.
