Nottingham Forest head into their Boxing Day fixture with Tottenham as favourites for victory having won each of their last three matches, leaving them in the Champions League positions over Christmas.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side became the first team in any competition to win away from home against Brentford on Saturday afternoon, which followed victories over Manchester United and Aston Villa.
The East Midlands side, who finished just one place above the relegation zone last season, will spend Christmas in fourth place in the Premier League, only two points off Arsenal above them and three points ahead of Bournemouth in fifth.
Standing in Forest’s way of earning a fifth win in six home matches are a Tottenham side who will be desperate to get back to winning ways after suffering a humiliating 6-3 home defeat against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The defeat leaves Ange Postecoglou’s side with three losses in their last four league games, and sees them fall into the bottom half of the Premier League table, currently sitting 11th and two points behind Brighton, who are a place above them.
Tottenham have won eight of the last 10 meetings between the two teams, including each of their last three, but Forest will be confident of another big name scalp on Boxing Day this season.
