Two of boxing’s most talented fighters Oleksandr Usyk and Roy Jones Jr have finally fought it out in a simulated clash.
Usyk recently was crowned the undisputed heavyweight world champion after beating Tyson Fury, which has cemented his status as one of the greatest in the current era.
Usyk and Jones Jr never fought in their primes, but the debate has been answered[/caption]
This has come after the Ukrainian had already reigned as undisputed king at cruiserweight, and he remains undefeated in his professional career having also beaten the likes of Anthony Joshua and Derek Chisora.
A fantasy fight against boxing legend Jones Jr has always been a discussion point for fans, given the pair had a similar journey.
Jones Jr incredibly won world titles in four weight classes from middleweight up to heavyweight, with the pair possessing a similar build.
Captain Hook’s style was comparable of that to Usyk, and in his prime, he was a formidable force at many different weights fighting an incredible résumé including Bernard Hopkins and John Ruiz.
Naturally many have had their own opinion on a debate as to who would win in their prime, given they were dominant in different eras.
But boxing game Undisputed has now attempted to settle this debate, with the pair battling in a cruiserweight contest.
The outcome came very quickly with the pair coming flying out of the blocks and moving with electric speed in the opening round.
It was almost an unrealistically fast tempo, with the contest likely to have played out as more of a chess match if the pair actually did meet.
The contest had an even opening round, but things seriously became wild in the second.
It was Jones Jr who came out the quicker and in a seriously bizarre moment, teed off on Usyk who showed no signs of putting his hands up and defending.
Usyk was dropped to the canvas by a bizarre flash knockdown at the start of round two[/caption]
Incredibly Usyk recovered and in seconds had Jones Jr out cold to close the show[/caption]
Unfortunately it saw him dropped to the canvas on his back after a crackling left hand, but there’s almost no way Usyk would have let this happen given his incredible defensive capabilities.
He showed his normal powers of recovery climbing back to his feet as the referee counted, and he was back to his feet by the count of five.
But what followed was simply astonishing, as Usyk came to his senses and let his hands go.
He amazingly immediately rose to his feet and fired away in a crazy onslaught, with an uppercut breaking their exchange.
Usyk then went to the body with a shot before quickly launching a crunching right hand which crashed through the guard on to the temple of Jones Jr.
It knocked the American unconscious and he collapsed to the canvas motionless.
The referee didn’t even signal to begin the count, a rare feat on the game, with Jones Jr out cold and unable to continue.
All of this action happened in two rounds, and if this did happen in a fantasy meeting, fans would have barely been able to catch their breath.
It is no doubt that Usyk and Jones Jr have both left separate legacies that will rarely be matched.
For the former, his time in the ring continues as he is set to return in a huge rematch against Fury on December 21 at heavyweight.
If he continues winning, Usyk could put himself up there as one of the best of all-time, and firmly alongside Jones Jr.
