Osasuna vs Barcelona predictions
Osasuna have had a solid start to their La Liga campaign.
Vicente Moreno’s team have picked up 11 points from their seven fixtures, winning three, drawing two and losing two.
The two defeats have come away from home to Girona (4-0) and Rayo Vallecano (3-1).
At their El Sadar home they have picked up ten points from 12 in their four matches.
Only a 1-1 draw with Leganes on the opening weekend of the season has prevented them from taking maximum points at home this season.
Last season Osasuna finished 11th. This was a disappointing return after a seventh place finish in 2022/23, and it may well have played a part in Jagoba Arrasate’s decision to quit as manager at the end of the term.
Osasuna are on a five-match losing skid against Barcelona. A run that dates back to July 2020. But given the excellent home form of Los Rojillos this season, they can go into the showdown on Saturday with renewed belief they can end that run.
Barcelona have made the perfect start to the new La Liga season, taking a maximum 21 points from their first seven matches.
Their most recent result was a 1-0 win over Getafe on Wednesday. The win was arguably the Catalan’s most unconvincing performance of the season under new boss Hansi Flick.
Nevertheless, it was their seventh straight win in the league. And the winning goal from Robert Lewandowski was his seventh of the season.
Things are going well for Barca, right?
Well, on a negative note, the Catalans are missing some of their top names through injury.
Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is out for the rest of the season. He picked up a serious knee injury in the 5-1 win over Villareal last weekend.
Also missing are Frenkie de Jong and Dani Olmo. Barca will be hoping to have de Jong back over the next couple of weeks. However, the news on new signing Olmo is less optimistic. He is set to be out for at least another three to four weeks.
The loss of Olmo is a huge blow. The new signing had settled in brilliantly, finding the net in his first three outings for the club.
The pressure is on Barcelona ahead of this fixture.
They have a four point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table. And this Sunday, Real are away at Atletico in the Madrid Derby.
Flick knows another three points at this early stage of the season could have massive implications on their chances of winning La Liga.

Osasuna vs Barcelona betting tips
Osasuna is looking to end a six-match losing streak against Barcelona. They are in good form and will believe they have a chance. But Barcelona are on a roll, and stopping them will be difficult. We expect Barcelona to make it eight from eight. But at 2/5, the Catalans may be a bit short to back.
Barcelona to win and over 1.5 goals
Barcelona have a perfect record this season, but away from home their form has been especially impressive.
In four matches on the road, the Catalans have scored 13 of their 23 goals this season. They put two each past Valencia and Rayo Vallecano, four past Girona and five past Villareal.

Barca have a lot of players missing. And we also have to take into account Osasuna’s strong home record. The hosts could well sneak a draw.
So with that all in mind, a bet on Barcelona at 2/5 is simply a no-no.
But the Catalans are well able to find a way to sneak the win, so for better value, we think it is worth backing them to win and for there to be over 1.5 goals in the match.

Both teams to score
One area of concern new Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is yet to address is his team’s inability to keep a clean sheet.
Barcelona may have plenty of goals in them going forward. But the trade off is there are plenty of holes at the back.
Will Hansi Flick attempt to address this during the season? We are not so sure.
Afterall, he wouldn’t be the first Barca boss to play with the philosophy that if you score four, we will score five.
The statistics show that Barcelona has conceded in six of their eight (La Liga and Champions League) matches this season.
One of their clean sheets came against Getafe on Wednesday, and that was mainly down to poor finishing by the visitors at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.
Osasuna has also found the net in their four home La Liga matches this season.

Raphinha to score anytime
Former Leeds United midfielder Raphinha has started the season in fine form.
The wide man has already scored five goals in seven appearances in La Liga. Last season, he managed just six in 28.
And if truth be told, he should have added to his five-goal tally against Getafe when he missed a great chance from close range to give Barca a 2-0 lead.
The Brazilian is a respected member of the squad. Pre-season he was named one of the clubs designated captains. And with Ter Stegen missing, he wore the armband against Getafe on Wednesday.
His confidence is high and with the team needing leaders due to all of their injuries, a goal from Raphinha against Osasuna could well be on the cards.
