I tried the Oura Ring and these are my honest thoughts

Aaron Dowler, our Stategic Partnerships Lead has put his Oura Ring through its paces over the last 12 months and here is his verdict…
- Pros: Accurate and unevasive sleep and health tracking, stylish, good battery life
- Cons: The ring can scratch easily when weight training
I have been wearing the Oura Ring Gen 3 for well over a year now and it has been a game-changer for my sleep and health tracking.
I don’t like feeling restrained while sleeping so I could never get on with an Apple Watch to track.
Oura allows me to track over 20 biometrics like resting heart rate, heart rate variability and temperature changes. This means that I can optimise and make changes to my sleep and wellness routine and then see almost in real time the effect those changes have made on my biometrics.
The stress tracking function is truly humbling and it’s made me take a step back and look at my stress levels from a macro perspective.
It’s encouraged me to take up activities like meditation and yoga to try and bring my stress levels down to a more human level.
It’s the first thing I look at when I wake up and my hand feels like it’s missing a finger when I don’t wear it!
