Kris Knoblauch’s troops had a similar path to their counterparts in this cup rematch, As the Edmonton Oilers toppled the Dallas Stars winning their series 4-1 in the Western Conference Final.

For the second consecutive year, Aleksander Barkov won the Selke Trophy, which is awarded to the NHL’s top defensive forward. Despite his guarding abilities shutting down his opponents, Barkov is the top-producing player in the playoffs for his team amassing 17 points in as many games. 

Sam Bennett will be relied upon to light the lamp in the cup finals as he currently leads this postseason’s race with 10 goals. In 76 regular season appearances this term, this summer’s pending free agent acquired 25 tallies.

At the top of the chart in playoffs points, Connor McDavid will be the focal point on the attack. Last year’s Conn Smythe Trophy winner has cataloged 26 points through 16 playoff outings in 2025. The Oilers’ captain on the stat sheet cataloged multiple points in four of his last five showings on the ice. 

It hasn’t been a beautiful display between the pipes for Stuart Skinner, but he has been able to materialize clutch saves when his team needed him.

The Oilers’ netminder possesses a 2.53 GAA and a .904 save percentage in 10 postseason starts. In a three-game span, Skinner stopped 75 of the last 80 shots he faced.

The Panthers have been road warriors of late, winning five straight, that said we feel their solid away form ends on Wednesday. The Hurricanes are a formidable opponent, but they’re not the Edmonton Oilers.

Travel and time zone changes could affect this Panthers side as they haven’t racked up the miles like their adversary in this Stanley Cup rematch. 

This is expected to be another long series in the finals, but we sense Edmonton will get the first taste of victory in this series. Rogers Place has been a fortress for the Oil, as they have won nine of their last 11 on home ice while averaging over 4.5 goals registered per game.

Besides the production of McDavid and Draisaitl, Edmonton is getting secondary scoring from its depth players which has been another reason why they have looked so lethal since dropping the opening two games against the Kings during the first round.
