Police FC returned to the winning rail on Wednesday after overcoming new comers Police FC in a closely contested game played at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
The Cops nicked a hard fought 2-1 win over the Surgeons with the winning goal coming in the closing minutes of the game.
Police FC suffered their first loss of the season away to Vipers SC last week and needed a response.
It is what they got exactly on Wednesday, thanks to goals from Ben Ocen and lethal striker Isaac Ogwang who scored the winning goal.
The Visitors got their consolation through youngster Umar Kyebatala midway through the second half.
Ocen fired Police into the lead in the 22nd minute but the Mbale Heroes got their equalizer a minute after recess.
Ogwang scored the winner with five minutes left on the clock thanks to a well laid pass from substitute Emmanuel Mugume.
The result takes Police FC to 4th place on 10 points while Mbale Heroes remain second from bottom on four points.
