Francis Ngannou has lashed out at Dana White in a remarkable dress down of his former boss.

Ngannou said in an angry rant that UFC president White has been ‘praying for my downfall’ since he left the organisation, while also confirming his stance on a future bout with Jon Jones.

‘The Predator’ left the UFC in January 2023 over a contract dispute with White, but has claimed he has made twice the money since leaving than he ever would have made in his entire UFC career.

The former UFC heavyweight champion also called out White for not paying him money that he was owed to him from his last two fights with the company.

This follows Ngannou’s return to MMA after he knocked out Brazil’s Renan Ferreira in the first round of his PFL debut.

White went after Ngannou during a Power Slap media conference in October, saying he almost cut him from the UFC and that he was ‘all about the money’.

“I think Dana is trying to make things up to buy a good face in the position that he has lost,” Ngannou said via MMA on SirusXM.

“Dana has lost in this situation and the only thing is that he can’t understand it. Like, bro, I won everything. I left, it’s been what, almost two years?

“And the guy is still out there. He can’t live without it. He can’t handle me. Regardless of everything that happened, I’m not about him.

“I went out there, did a fight, great fight for my son, but the guy can’t stand. I don’t know what his problem is, but he can make everything up as he wants. That is the problem. He needs to make peace with himself.”

Ngannou fought 15 times for White’s promotion across seven years following his UFC debut in December 2015.

He lost consecutive fights to Stipe Miocic and Derrick Lewis by unanimous decision in 2018, which prompted White to almost cut Ngannou from the UFC.

However, ‘The Predator’ embarked on a six-fight win streak after those losses, claiming the UFC heavyweight title after a victory over Miocic in the pair’s rematch.

He was then victorious over Ciryl Gane in his first title defence in January 2022 before leaving the UFC one year later.

Ngannou lost two professional boxing matches to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua – although many claimed he should’ve upset ‘The Gypsy King’ – before he made a return to MMA.

“You could have just said, we didn’t find an agreement or something. We couldn’t find it. Yeah, we couldn’t come to a deal, but good luck to him. That’s it,” Ngannou added, referring to his dismissal from the UFC.

“But I think the problem is that he can’t handle this loss. I’m sure he’s been praying for my downfall. Then I just keep doing my thing, rising, you know, since I left the UFC in any sense, I’m more than what I was.

“And which money he’s talking about? The money that he owes me. They say, oh, we’re going to pay you [back] the money that we owe you from the Stipe and Ciryl Gane fight. All that, they never [paid me back].

“Now I have made more money than I would have ever made in the UFC. I would say maybe twice the money that I could have ever made in my entire UFC career if I had continued in the UFC.

“Why is [he] so p***** about me not making that much money? Like, come on, man. Live your life.”

White cited Ngannou not wanting to fight UFC icon Jones as one of the reasons why he was axed from the organisation.

Jones takes on Miocic at UFC 309 on November 17 in the first defence of his belt since returning in March 2023.

He submitted Gane after two minutes in the first round to claim back his heavyweight title after a three-year hiatus.

As the interim heavyweight champion, Britain’s Tom Aspinall is the official backup fighter for the bout – should either of Jones or Miocic have to pull out.

“I still want Jon Jones,” Ngannou added. “Remember, the only guy right now making the Jon Jones fight not happen is Dana White. The only guy standing between that fight is Dana White.

“I want the Jon Jones fight. Give it to me now, I’m down. Jones is down. We have always been. We have always been down.

“But this is a new narrative that they have to build. I mean, I’m talking three years after, I’m still down for the Jon Jones fight. I was down before and I’m down now.”

The UFC returns on Saturday night as Ilia Topuria defends his featherweight title against Max Holloway in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Robert Whittaker faces Khamzat Chimaev in the co-main event, while Manchester’s Lerone Murphy faces Dan Ige.

UK fans will not have to wake up early during the night for the card as the main card is set to begin at 7pm BST.
