Paige Bueckers is enjoying a season to remember and living up to her billing as a potential WNBA Draft first overall pick.
Attention is cranking up ahead of March Madness, when all eyes will be on Bueckers and her UConn Huskies teams star target a national championship.

The Huskies head into the tournament full of momentum after recent wins, and in a recent interview the 23-year-old kept it candid about the reality of winning the title.
Bueckers enjoyed a stellar regular season campaign for UConn as the guard led the team in both scoring and assists.
She averaged 18.6 points and 5 assists through 29 games and in the final regular-season game she put up a classic with 19 points and seven assists against Marquette.
Now with the annual March Madness tournament fast approaching – Selection Sunday is just over a week away – and the opportunity to win a championship, the college star made no efforts to hide her excitement for it.
“Obviously, very excited,” Bueckers said.
“This is what you prepare for your whole entire life, whole entire season. I don’t know. I’m just excited. March is great. Playing during this time is great.
“We just want to continue to keep getting better and keep looking forward to the future.”
While Bueckers has a year left of college eligibility, this is likely to be her last before she turns professional and enters the WNBA draft.
It therefore means this is the last chance for her to win a national title with a UConn team who, despite their storied history, are desperate to win another championship.
UConn is the most successful women’s basketball program in history, having won 11 and record four in a row, from 2013 through 2016.

Although the school is on a nine-year drought, having not won a national championship since 2016, Bueckers is determined to end such a run before she goes to the WNBA.
“I think we’re growing every single day. Like my other years here at college, the coaches do an amazing job preparing us for whatever is going to come our way,” she said.
“They won 11 national titles so they know what it looks like.
“I think our chemistry is growing. We want to be playing our best basketball right now but I think we have the tools and we just need to continue to keep getting better.”
One last dance awaits Bueckers in the NCAA tournament before she enters the world of professional basketball.
Should she declare, Bueckers will likely go as the No. 1 pick a position currently held by the Dallas Wings – a franchise that hasn’t won a WNBA title since 2008.
Bueckers will be tasked with breathing life back into the franchise – and in her mind on the back of a national title.
