Pressure grows on Byekwaso as Villa drop points against Police

SC Villa interim coach Morley Byekwaso is under immense pressure as the team continues to struggle to find consistency.

The Jogoos who are the reigning League Champions have failed to string down consistent performances and the recent form is even worrying.

For the last two games in a row, SC Villa have squandered the lead to both Lugazi FC and Police FC with both games ending in one-all draw.

Against Police FC today at Muteesa II Stadium, the Jogoos took the lead in the 24th minute through Patrick Jonah Kakande who converted from the spot when Charles Lwanga was brought down.

However, the team failed to hold onto the lead and Police FC too were awarded a penalty that was converted by Brian Obedi in the 83rd minute.

After the game, a section of SC Villa fans were baying for Byekwaso’s blood, calling for his resignation.

Since taking over from Serbian Dusan Stojanovic at the start of the season, Villa have blown hot and cold, being extremely good in one game and failing to show the same in the next game.

The result leaves SC Villa in 7th place on 16 points, two behind Police in 5th position who have registered their eighth draw of the campaign.

SC Villa will return to action next Friday with a visit to Lugogo to face nemesis KCCA FC while Police FC will host Maroons FC in Kavumba.
