Simon Jordan has been challenged to ‘put his money where his mouth is’ by a Rangers fan after their season took another hit.

Rangers were beaten in the league for the third time this season on Wednesday night.

Their 2-1 loss at Aberdeen leaves them nine points adrift of the Dons and bitter rivals Celtic at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, the Gers also posted losses of £17.2million this week as pressure mounts on manager Philippe Clement.

The Belgian won the Scottish League Cup last season after his appointment in October but missed out on the Scottish Cup and league title to Celtic.

Now, a Rangers fan, Graham, urged Jordan for a plan to help the club on Thursday.

Calling in to White & Jordan, he asked: “Simon, put your money where your mouth is, what do we do to fix this mess that’s going on right now? What do we do?”

The former Crystal Palace chairman responded: “Well, what do you think? You’re a fan, you’re watching it.

“I mean ultimately you’ve gone from a manager that people like me and [Graeme] Souness really like. Souness really liked him, he liked Frank Lampard better, but he pivoted off that as soon as they gave it to Clement and Clement was doing well.

“Most of last season I thought Clement had the chops to be a challenging manager. Then your back end of the season goes the way it does.

“You tell me, I mean how much support has he been given? How much resources has he been given?”

He continued: “You know what’s been bought and sold don’t you?

“You know what’s happened to your playing squad. You know who’s been sold and who’s been brought in and what the improvements or lack of improvements.

“Has he been given the right materials to produce a competitive Rangers?”

Jordan was then asked what his advice would be to the Rangers board, explaining: “I think Dave King is somebody that should be brought into the equation.

“I don’t think it was great he went through the media and behaved the way he did because all he was going to do was alienate the other shareholders.

“But I think you get definite, b**** out views with Dave and what I saw then was a response from your current chairman, who I’m sure is a very pleasant fellow.

“Sort of suggested to me that there wasn’t any great dynamism in the place.”

Former chairman Dave King oversaw the club’s return to the Premiership and appointed title-winning boss Steven Gerrard.

However, Rangers can still reach a first final of the season this weekend.

Clement’s side face Motherwell at Hampden Park on Sunday in the semi-finals of the League Cup in what will be a much needed boost for the Gers.
