Kyprios
This Aidan O’Brien long distance star has won every race he’s competed in this year, with all six convincing victories.
That puts his flat turf record to 14 wins from 18 runs and he thrives on a variety of going, long distances and courses.
He beat Trueshan comfortably at Longchamp in the Group 1 Prix du Cadran when 1/5 favourite and has been a huge odds-on favourite in five of his six races this year too.
When 11/10 favourite at Royal Ascot over 2m4f in the Gold Cup, Trawlerman was a close second but couldn’t get nearer at 7/1 but now reappears as a rival at 3/1 this weekend as Kyprios drifts to 10/11 from 4/6.
If he declares for a huge seventh race of the season he should win it comfortably under Ryan Moore.
Kind Of Blue
Art Power won this last year at 40/1, beating Kinross the 5/4 favourite by a neck, on soft ground.
He comes into the 2024 renewal as favourite again after beating Lead Artist well at Doncaster, but yet to be seen as effective over 6f this year as connections have focused on 7f.
He also won in 2022 so clearly has a great record when running here at this time of year.
Montassib has been in great form over 6f this year though and has won four times from his last five races over such distance.
Including ahead of Kinross at Newcastle in June in the all-weather Chipchase Stakes.
He then went on to win by a head to Kind Of Blue at 25/1 to win the Group 1 Betfair Sprint Cup Stakes confirming his Group 1 form.
2nd in that race has had a great first season as a three-year-old and has proven effective over this distance going close in his last four in Group company.
There are chances across this field with a maximum amount of 20 runners competing for the £283k prize.
Queen Of The Pride
Kalpana doesn’t have proven form on softer ground yet though her sire has on on heavy ground, albeit on his debut, but it still bodes well enough for his filly.
Queen Of The Pride remains a favourite for the tips though having been tipped for the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks, but something was clearly amiss that day as she placed 8/8 26 lengths behind Content.
Previous to that she showed great form beating Tiffany comfortably at Haydock and Lady Boba in June.
She was also marginally off of Gather Ye Rosebuds coming back from a break at Goodwood in May, also on soft ground and that really could be a signal of better things to come here.
Charyn
Hard to go against the favourite here, Charyn has been exceptional this season winning four and placing 2nd another two times.
He won on soft ground on seasonal debut in May beating Astral Beau by over three lengths and that really was a sign of things to come as he then beat Poker Face at Sandown in Group 2 company.
He’s thriving over a mile and only lost last time out to Tribalist at Longchamp in tough conditions.
Though an each-way bet also has to go on Prague as he’s been supplemented after showing incredible form at Newmarket last time out.
That kind of run had always looked to be coming as I tipped him at Haydock in the run before at the same price, when he as narrowly beaten by Holloway Boy.
It could be his time to continue improving after winning well at Newmarket as the four-year-old is still quite unexposed.
Westerninthepark
This Walk In The Park gelding should be well-weighted for his chase debut.
He was upped just 1lb for placing a decent 5th of 17 at the Grade 3 Handicap Hurdle Final having previously won both hurdle attempts nicely as an odds-on favourite.
Westerninthepark should be able to improve nicely off this mark over fences and the move to Olly Murphy’s yard is an interesting one with Sean Bowen now on board.
