Liverpool vs Chelsea tips
Liverpool has got off to a flying start in the Premier League winning six from seven of their matches under new boss Arne Slot.
On the road, the Reds are 100%, winning four from four. At Anfield, they have won two from three.
Liverpool started well at home with a 2-0 win over Brentford, but lost their unbeaten record when they went down 1-0 to Nottingham Forest in a below par performance on Matchweek 4. Normal service resumed at Anfield with a 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Matchweek 5.
Overall this season, Liverpool haven’t really been challenged. The jury is still slightly out on Slot.
After they play Chelsea, Liverpool travel to Germany to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League. And then on the following Sunday, they are in London, taking on Arsenal at the Emirates.
We will have a far better idea of where Liverpool are under Slot after those three fixtures.
As for Chelsea, they have won four and drawn two in the Premier League under new boss Enzo Maresca.
On the road the Blues are 100%, winning all three from three. The victories have come against Wolves (6-2), Bournemouth (1-0) and West Ham (3-0). Overall, ten goals from three road-trips is impressive.
Chelsea look stronger away from home than they do at the Bridge. And against a Liverpool team that couldn’t break down Nottingham Forest at Anfield, we can see the Blues causing Arne Slot’s team problems.
Furthermore, Enzo Maresca will have noted how Nuno Espirito Santo set his Forest team up that day. The Italian will also have a plan to stifle the Reds and stop them playing to their full potential.
But Liverpool have only conceded two goals in the Premier League this season. The Reds know how to defend. All of which makes this such an intriguing fixture.
Nevertheless, we can see Chelsea scoring. They have only failed to score once this season in all competitions. And that was against Manchester City on the opening weekend of the Premier League.
But we can also see the Blues conceding.
Both teams to score is 48/100. We can definitely see that happening. We can also see the two sides playing out an entertaining draw. A share of the spoils is 10/3 and looks a great value bet on this match.
