The Pittsburgh Pirates are desperate to get their hands on a rare Paul Skenes treasure.

And it seems his girlfriend, Livvy Dunne, is very keen too.

The first overall pick of the 2023 MLB draft took to the field for his Pirates debut on May 11 of this year.

And that date could go down as one of the most important in the franchise’s recent history.

Pittsburgh went on to win his debut, against the Chicago Cubs, 10-9.

Their new star pitcher made an instant impact, striking out seven over four innings.

In his second start, against the Cubs at Wrigley Field on May 17, Skenes threw six innings without allowing a hit, striking out eleven batters – including the first seven he faced.

Less than two months later, he was selected to the 2024 All-Star game, becoming the first No. 1 draft pick to do so as a rookie.

He ended his rookie season with a 1.96 ERA, 170 strikeouts and an 11-3 record in 23 starts.

For Skenes, it all started when he stepped on the field against the Cubs, and now a piece of that historic performance is set to hit shelves.

A single rookie card, autographed by Skenes himself, was slipped into a 2024 Topps Chrome Update pack that was released this week.

It features the authentic “MLB Debut” patch that he wore on his sleeve that day.

Someone, somewhere, will pull that card soon, which could prove to be a priceless piece of memorabilia in the future.

In fact, it could secure the lucky fan an instant payout – because the Pirates are keen to have it themselves.

The franchise have shared their offer on social media – and it’s a pretty enticing one.

Whoever trades them the one-of-one card will receive two season tickets behind home plate for the next 30 years, as well as a meet and greet with Skenes himself.

The offer also includes a softball game for 30 at PNC Park with alumni as coaches, a private tour of their spring training complex and, of course, a couple of signed Skenes jerseys.

Influencer and LSU gymnast Dunne, who has been spotted cheering on her partner at PNC Park plenty of times, added a further incentive to the offer.

“Let’s raise the stakes…the person who finds the card can sit with me at a Pirates game in my suite,” she wrote on social media.

According to the official MLB website, the Skenes card is expected to have a six-figure value, so whoever finds it will have quite the decision to make.
