If you thought the European Ryder Cup stars had a cracking golf game, their commitment to Halloween outfits may be even better.

Europe skipper Luke Donald led his team to victory at the 2023 Ryder Cup over their American rivals by a 16.5-11.5 margin.

Like he did at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Italy last year, Donald led the way when it came to his Halloween costume.

The entire Donald family rarely miss when it comes to the outfits and this year was no different as they went for a New York theme.

Donald dressed up as King Kong and clutched a cardboard cut-out of the Empire State Building.

As for the rest of his family, they went for a wide range of New York classics and even dressed up their dog in a hot dog outfit.

Perhaps Donald will channel his inner King Kong as Europe heads to New York for the 2025 Ryder Cup, which will be held at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale.

In the movie, King Kong is transported to New York and destroys the city after breaking out of a theatre before climbing to the top of the Empire State Building.

However, the 46-year-old won’t want Europe to suffer a similar fate to Kong in the movie given the beast is eventually shot dead by a swarm of biplanes.

Donald wasn’t content with just one outfit for the night, either.

He dressed up as a Chicago Cubs baseball player complete with a jersey and hat as well as navy blue socks tucked into long white pants.

Donald was joined by Europe stars Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy, who both got in the Halloween spirit with their outfits.

Kansas City Chiefs fans would have been doing a double take had they seen Lowry walking down the street as he donned a Travis Kelce-inspired outfit.

Lowry wore a Chiefs jersey with Kelce’s 87 on the front and back along with football cleats, white pants tucked into long red socks and gloves.

The Irishman even sported a Kansas City Super Bowl champions hat for good measure.

As for McIlroy, he dressed up as everyone’s favourite Italian plumber, Mario.

McIlroy wore blue overalls and a red long-sleeve shirt as well as Mario’s iconic red hat.

He even popped an upside-down moustache on for good measure.

It’s a close call as to who won the outfit of the night, but the trio and the rest of Europe’s team will hope for a wide victory at next year’s Ryder Cup.
