The Uganda National Netball Team, the She Cranes, is set to face Namibia in their next match at the Africa Netball Cup on Wednesday.
The team is determined to bounce back after a narrow 50-49 defeat to Zimbabwe in their opening game.
Head coach Nelson Bogere remains optimistic, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the upcoming challenge.
“We have put the loss behind us and are now concentrating on what lies ahead,” Bogere stated.
“We have worked on our mistakes and are expecting a much better performance. It won’t be easy since we’ll be up against the hosts, but I’m confident that we have what it takes to win.”
In a boost for the team, captain Irene Eyaru is expected to return to the lineup after missing most of the Zimbabwe game due to injury.
“We are thrilled to have our captain back,” Bogere added. “Her presence brings positive energy to the team, and it makes us stronger as we move forward.”
The She Cranes will wrap up the group stage with a match against Eswatini two days later. Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
In the other group, South Africa, Malawi, Kenya, and Zambia are battling for the top two spots.
