South Africa’s camp has been dealt a huge blow after striker Mihlali Mayambela suffered an injury.
Bafana Bafana will face Uganda in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers this Friday at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala before taking on South Sudan on Tuesday next week.
The injury to Mayambela was confirmed by coach Hugo Broos and communited on the safa.net website.
“Mihlali Mayambela has withdrawn from the Bafana Bafana squad after he picked up an injury while playing for his Cypriot club Aris Limassol at the weekend.” Reads the statement.
“Unfortunately, Mayambela will not join us in camp, and he will be replaced by Devin Titus from Stellenbosch FC,” Broos said on Monday.
Uganda leads Group K on 10 points and need just a point in the final two games to qualify for AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
