Former English footballer Frederick Lewis Donaldson (1937-2018) is remarkably quoted “Children learn as they play. More importantly, in play, children learn how to learn”.

This great quotation from the sportsman rhymes well with the Uganda Squash Rackets Association (USRA) children’s clinic.

The USRA clinic is helping the children acquire important skills of this indoor game with the necessary game time.

A total of 17 children are being trained by three senior coaches Raymond Michael Kawooya, Paul Kadoma and Ivan Waswa.

“We are training the young players learn the basics of Squash, love the game and appreciate it to further develop into established players and professionals in the coming years. We thank the Uganda Squash Rackets Association for all the support accorded” Kawooya who has played at three Commonwealth Games remarked.

This month-long holiday children’s clinic is funded by Uganda Squash Rackets Association, which is also providing transport, allowances, meals, refreshments, rackets, playing balls, repair of rackets among others.

This training is executed on four days of the week; Monday Tuesday Thursday and Saturday.

This is part of the four training clinics to be conducted in the year 2025.

January, April, August and December are the months designated for these holiday training clinics.

Uganda Squash Rackets Association (USRA) has lined up a number of events on the domestic calendar; leading to the big continental championship later in the year.
