Ssesazi inspires Cricket Cranes to sixth win at ILT20 Cup in Rwanda

Simon Ssesazi (85) fell 15 runs short of a deserved second T20i century as he continues to work his way back into the main team.

Botswana won the toss and elected to bowl but was immediately put under the pump by the new opening partnership of Fred Achellam (25) and Simon Ssesazi (85) who put on 57 inside 6 overs.

When Achellam departed, Shrideep Mangela (65) carried on with Simon Ssesazi with the former bringing up his 1st half-century of the tournament. Riazat Ali Shah (36) had a flourish at the end of the innings with Uganda finishing on 229/3 in their 20 overs.

In the run chase, with the two premier fast bowlers Juma Miyagi and Cosmas Kyewuta given a break Raghav Dhawan and Riazat Ali Shah opened the bowling.

The burden of the bowling was managed by the slow bowling options of Joseph Baguma (2/20), Alpesh Ramjani (2/29), Henry Ssenyondo (1/15), and Frank Nsubuga (1/12).

Botswana ran out of resources with the score at only 121/7, the defending champions bringing up their sixth win of the tournament as the group stage nears the end.

Uganda rang changes in this game to make sure the whole squad gets some game time. Robinson Obuya who had played all five games so far was given a break with the two pace bowlers given a rest as well.

Uganda remains unbeaten in the tournament and is more or less guaranteed a place in the final in the final.
