Uganda’s top safety and security expert Dixon Adol “Bond” Okello will be in charge of the group F AFCON 2025 qualifier between Sudan and Angola at the Sports City stadium in Benghazi.
Okello, a FIFA and CAF certified security personnel will head the safety and security operations at the 45,000-seater stadium.
His vast experience in the safety and security docket at FIFA and CAF engagements makes him the right choice for the job in such an epic clash in Libya.
With Angola already qualified on 13 points from group F, the task in the group is now on Sudan and Niger.
The other group team, Ghana Black Stars is eliminated after a dismissal three points off five matches.
Sudan currently has 7 points and only needs a point (draw) in the last game against Angola on Monday evening.
Ghana Black Stars faces Niger in the other group game. Niger needs maximum points with hopes Sudan loses to Angola.
Meanwhile, another Ugandan, Mike Letti is the match commissioner as Egypt entertains Botswana in group C on Tuesday, 19th November 2024 at the 30th June Stadium in Cairo city.
Egypt is unbeaten and has collected 13 points from five matches. Botswana is currently second with 7 points. Cape Verde and Mauritania each has 4 points as they will be tussling for the remaining slot to AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
Botswana only needs a draw or victory over Egypt for qualification. Victories for Cape Verde or Mauritania will see them better positioned should Egypt win their home game.
