Everything is going well for Liverpool in their bid to win the Premier League for the first time in five years and they have a comfortable lead in the table as they prepare for Sunday’s Anfield showdown with Manchester United.
The Reds are on a four-game winning streak after last week’s 5-0 rout of West Ham and more goals could be on the cards as they face old rivals Manchester United.
Ruben Amorim has not found an immediate answer to the Red Devils’ problems and his side were down in 14th place in the standings before the weekend fixtures after losing four successive games in all competitions.

Reds can start new year with a bang
Liverpool have forged clear in style in the Premier League title race under new manager Arne Slot and are clear favourites to end Manchester City’s reign.
The Reds are the top scorers in the league with 45 goals in 18 matches and they have been stepping up the pace in recent weeks.
Liverpool have scored 14 goals in their last three league games, and 11 of those have come on the road in a 6-3 win at Tottenham and 5-0 hammering of West Ham.
Their red-hot forward line should be licking their lips at the prospect of facing a United defence who continue to struggle.
The Red Devils have conceded at least two goals in each of the four losses in their current miserable run and after failing to keep out Wolves and Bournemouth in that spell, their chances of holding back the rampant Reds must be slim. Backing over 3.5 goals at Anfield appeals.
No stopping super Salah
Mohamed Salah loves to face Manchester United and has scored 12 goals and supplied six assists against them, which is more than any other Premier League player.
The Egyptian star began the weekend three clear of Erling Haaland in the top-flight goal charts with 17 and has found the net in six of his last seven appearances, missing out only in the 2-2 draw at Fulham when the Reds played most of the game with 10 men.
He is understandably a short price to notch another goal against United, but it may be worth backing him to score more than once.
Salah has scored more than once in three of his last seven Premier League games, with doubles against Southampton, Newcastle and Tottenham, while Spurs’ Dominic Solankle struck twice in his team’s recent 4-3 win over the Red Devils.
Cards could flow in a feisty affair
For a bet builder on the Anfield action that pays out at 11/2, take Liverpool to win a game featuring four or more goals with both sides getting on the scoresheet and at least five yellow cards.
For many, the most controversial leg might be both teams scoring as United have failed to find the net in their last three games, but they have enough attacking talent for that run to end soon and Liverpool are not the stoutest side defensively.
The Reds have conceded in three of the four games of their current winning streak, plus the 2-2 draw at Fulham that preceded it.
Referees have been busy in the teams’ recent clashes, with each team receiving at least two cards in four of the last five meetings, while their first encounter this season saw four United players booked along with Virgil van Dijk for the Reds.
