Chelsea have emerged as potential Premier League title challengers and the Blues will look to further their cause in a Super Sunday blockbuster at London rivals Tottenham.
Enzo Maresca’s men went into the weekend in second, ahead of Arsenal on goal difference but seven points adrift of red-hot Liverpool, so they will be eager to make up ground on Arne Slot’s early pacesetters.
Chelsea are unbeaten in six league games, only dropping points against Manchester United and Arsenal in that period, and they’ve scored 10 goals in beating Leicester, Aston Villa and Southampton in their three most recent outings.
Spurs, on the other hand, remain a tough team to get a handle on – the Lilywhites have won 4-1 at home to Villa and 4-0 at Manchester City since the start of November but they’ve also dropped points against Ipswich, Fulham and Bournemouth.
Given the Blues’ impressive recent run, it’s no great surprise to see them favoured for what is likely to be a highly charged clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Chelsea can continue to dominate their rivals
Tottenham’s fine start to the 2023/24 season began to derail with a 4-1 defeat in this fixture last term but this time it’s Chelsea who are the form side when the London rivals meet again.
Red cards for Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie helped condemn Spurs to that home loss but Ange Postecoglou could have few excuses for their second clash, when Chelsea cruised to a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge in one of their final games under Mauricio Pochettino.
Since replacing the Argentinian with Maresca in the summer, the Blues have continued their improvement and can maintain their excellent form by posting a triumph against a team who are low on confidence and difficult to trust.
While the win over City caught the eye, Spurs subsequently registered fewer shots on target than both Fulham and Bournemouth and they could struggle to match Chelsea, who should extend their winning league run to four on the bounce.

Expect to see Jackson thrive in north London

Cucurella’s discipline could slip again
These teams have played out some ill-tempered fixtures over recent seasons and one man who could find his name in Anthony Taylor’s notebook is Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella.
The Spaniard has been booked six times already in the Premier League this season and he could be forced to intervene on several occasions to combat Spurs’ counter-attacking threat.
