Bet of the day
Greenock Morton and Partick Thistle to draw – 11/5
Partick Thistle closed the gap on the top three in the Championship as they won their Glasgow derby against Queen’s Park 2-1 on Saturday, with a brace from their in-form veteran Brian Graham.
The 37-year-old now has six goals in his last six outings and he could be a key threat in their visit to Morton on New Year’s Eve.
The Jags sit fourth in the table, but they could climb level with Ayr in third if they win here.
Kris Doolan’s side have been well served by their home form – they are undefeated in 10 games at Firhill – but are less reliable on the road with four defeats in eight already.
A trip to face third-from-bottom Greenock Morton may offer a solid chance of a win, but Dougie Imrie’s home side are on a six-game unbeaten league run of their own.
They are the draw specialists, with a league-high eight already, and another stalemate at Cappielow could be incoming.
Special of the day
Melbourne City to win and Both Teams to Score No – 29/10
A-League action from Australia takes place early in the day UK time as Melbourne City travel to face Central Coast Mariners at the Industree Group Stadium in Gosford.
Mark Jackson’s Central Coast side have only scored seven goals in nine games.
Melbourne City are just inside the top six currently but could jump to third with a win here. Only table toppers Auckland FC and third placed Melbourne Victory have conceded fewer goals than Aurelio Vidmar’s side and they can rise up the table with a win to nil.
Long shot of the day
Solihull to beat Tamworth 2-1 – 13/2
Solihull Moors are occupying the final playoff berth in the National League, sitting seventh, and will be eager to end the year by jumping up a position.
They can do so with a home success against Tamworth, which would take them above Rochdale.
Tamworth are seemingly headed for a mid-table finish, with 30 points from 23 games putting them in 15th, seven points clear of the drop zone and eight behind the playoff spots.
They’ve lost just one of their last seven in all competitions however and won’t be rolled over easily. They were winners on their previous visit to The ARMCO Arena back in 2016.
After a wobble that brought four losses in league and cup, Solihull have steadied the ship with three wins and a draw from four in the league since December 10.
They’ve only kept one clean sheet in that run and with Tamworth scoring in six of their last seven in all competitions, they should contribute again in a slender loss.
