Bet of the day

Manchester United vs FC Twente – Man Utd to win and both teams to score @ 7/4

Manchester United will hope to extend their unbeaten run to four matches when they host FC Twente in the Europa League at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s side have kept three successive clean sheets, but two of those came against struggling sides Southampton and then Barnsley in the EFL Cup.

Eredivisie outfit FC Twente will hope to make their mark as they aim for their third win in a row in all competitions. Ten of Twente’s last 11 games have featured at least three goals, and they should be able to score against a United side who have only kept four clean sheets in their last 17 outings at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag’s men are improving, though, so expect them to come out on top after 90 minutes.

Special of the day

Nice vs Real Sociedad – Nice to win to nil @ 11/4

Nice get their European adventure underway at home to Real Sociedad in a game that they should really be winning.

Les Aiglons smashed Saint-Etienne 8-0 last weekend and they have now won two out of three, scoring 12 goals in the process.

Opponents Sociedad have endured a miserable few weeks, having not won any of their last five. The La Liga club have failed to even score in their last four and they have only one win in their last seven games.

Nice have nine clean sheets in their last 15 home matches and can capitalise on Sociedad’s dip in form.

Long shot of the day

Liverpool vs West Ham – BetBuilder – Cody Gakpo to score first and Liverpool to win @ 21/4

While Liverpool have won five of their six games in all competitions this season, West Ham go into Wednesday’s EFL Cup encounter having not won any of their last three games.

The Hammers were thumped 3-0 by Chelsea at home last week, and they have now conceded six goals in two matches at home.

West Ham have lost six of their last 10 away from home in the Premier League, and they will do well to keep Liverpool at bay, even if Arne Slot makes numerous changes.

Such is the wealth of options available to the Dutchman, he can call upon the services of Cody Gakpo.

The former PSV Eindhoven frontman has started only one game this season, but he proved at Euro 2024 how effective he can be in the final third.

Gakpo scored three times in Germany for the Netherlands, while he netted 16 times for the Reds last season. The form of Luis Diaz has kept Gakpo out of the picture in recent weeks, but he has what it takes to make a statement against West Ham’s vulnerable defence.
