The PGA Tour moves on to Las Vegas this week for the Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin, where all players should benefit from their ball flying further at altitude.
South Korea’s Tom Kim has triumphed here in each of the last two years, but there are a host of in-form players who will be hopeful of making their presence felt in Nevada.

Shriners Open betting tips
Eric Cole to win the Shriners Open @ 35/1
Davis Thompson to win the Shriners Open @ 25/1
Taylor Pendrith to win the Shriners Open @ 25/1
Solid Cole can make his presence felt
It has been a decent second half of 2024 for Eric Cole and he could build on his 16th at the Sanderson Farms Championship last time out to have a successful week at a venue where he was third last year.
Cole was sixth at the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the end of June and followed that with a seventh-placed effort at the John Deere Classic which included rounds of 63 and 64.
He had a similar finish at the Wyndham Championship when his closing 63 was the best round of the day and there looks a strong chance he can make his presence felt in a tournament which tends to turn into a birdie hunt.
Cole gave last year’s field a bit of a headstart after his opening 71 was not what the doctor ordered, but he closed with a Summerlin 62 and that can only boost his confidence that he can make a strong bid for glory this week.
Expect a strong challenge from Thompson
Seven of Davis Thompson’s eight rounds at TPC Summerlin have been in the 60s and his course form figures of 12-35 are noteworthy this week.
The latter performance would have been a lot stronger had it not been for a second round 73 and the 25-year-old looks to have a bright future.
He was second in the low-grade Myrtle Beach Classic in May, but really kicked on after finishing ninth at the US Open.
That Pinehurst performance was followed by a runner-up spot at the Rocket Mortgage which gave him the confidence to post a four-shot success at the John Deere Classic the following week.
He could come on for the experience of playing in the first two rounds of the FedEx Cup playoffs and he can make his presence felt straight away after his lay-off.
Pendrith in fine fettle
Taylor Pendrith was third at Summerlin last year and an improvement on that should not be ruled out as the Canadian has posted 12 top-25 performances in his last 15 tournaments.
That run included victory at the CJ Cup and top-five finishes at the Barracuda Championship and the 3M Open, while the only missed cut in that sequence came at the US PGA Championship, so he looks in the mood to go even better than he did 12 months ago.
