The finals for the third edition of the Entebbe Christmas Cup between Falcon and Tanda were pushed to Wednesday, 1st January 2025 at the Nkumba primary school playground (Kataka).
This follows a postponement by the organizing committee after the initial day of the finals had been scheduled on Christmas Day following heavy rains on the day.
Both teams are expected to field vastly experienced players who feature in Uganda’s top clubs.
Tanda qualified from group A whilst Falcon was initially in group D.
According to the chairman of the local organizing committee Ramathan Kasirye, the gates will open by 2 PM for the epic match whose entry fees are Ug.Shs 5000 (adults) and Ug.Shs 3000 (children).
Awards and Prizes:
The winning team will smile home with a bull, gold medals and a glittering trophy.
A goat, silver medals and a ball will go to the second placed team.
The tournament top scorer will take home a TV flat screen.
The top four teams (all semi-finalists) will receive a set of new jerseys.
The tournament has been open to all categories of players (those with FUFA licenses in various divisions) with the key objectives of providing entertainment to the masses, identifying talented players and promoting them, according to the organizer Ramathan Kasirye.
Counsel Derrick is the main sponsor, joined by Awel Tours and Travel as well as Nkumba Model Primary school.
