The Kansas City Chiefs have been busy this offseason.

Their additions of running back Elijah Mitchell and offensive lineman Jaylen Moore are all expected to contribute to the team’s journey back to the Super Bowl.

Mitchell agreed to a one-year deal with the Chiefs at the beginning of March as he looks to make his comeback to the NFL after missing all of last season with a hamstring injury.

The Chiefs will be confident that a healthy Mitchell will be a useful role player for them and will complement starter Isiah Pacheco.

After agreeing his deal, the 26-year-old has been speaking to reporters where he was quick to praise another free agent addition by the Chiefs, offensive tackle Jaylon Moore.

“That’s my boy, bruh like we came in together. Since day one, we clicked,” said Mitchell.

“But, man, Jaylon (Moore), he brings a lot, even though he was (playing behind) one of the best tackles in the league (49ers’ Trent Williams).

“Jaylon is definitely a sleeper, and Patrick Mahomes is going to love what Jaylon brings to it. He can protect. He’s a good guy, man, and an awesome football player. So he’s going to be good. I’m excited for him.”

Mitchell and Moore have been 49ers teammates since they were both drafted together in the 2021 NFL draft.

The pair will be hoping to achieve success in Kansas City after falling short in San Francisco.

Moore will have high expectations upon his arrival in Kansas City.

The 27-year-old was signed in the first hour of NFL free agency and agreed a two-year contract worth $30 million, including $21.2 million guaranteed.

He replaces four-time Super Bowl winner Joe Thuney, who filled the position over recent times before recently departing for the revamped Chicago Bears.

Moore will now have the opportunity to be a first-time starter and the O-lineman responsible for protecting quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ blind side.

It’s a challenge he has already welcomed, recently telling reporters how excited he is to play with three-time Super Bowl winner Mahomes.

“Right after we got the deal done, I was stoked, and it was great conversations between me and the coaching staff,” Moore said.

“In my opinion, the tape doesn’t lie. I know it’s a small sample size, but I just go out there and play ball the way I know how.

“They see something in me, so I’m excited to go balls to the walls for these guys.”

The Chiefs needed a long-term solution at left tackle and without an abundance of options before the draft, Moore was a smart coup by the franchise.
