Gervonta Davis’ hair stylist has fired back at claims she was to blame for ‘Tank’ taking a knee against Lamont Roach.
Davis retained his WBA lightweight title after being held to a majority decision by Roach in Brooklyn on Saturday night.

Roach, a massive underdog, proved to be a much sterner test than Davis had bargained for and would have been declared the victor were it not for referee Steve Willis wrongfully denying him a knockdown in the ninth round.
A grazing jab temporarily compromised Davis‘ vision, prompting him to drop to one knee before walking over to his corner to get a piece of debris wiped from his eye.
According to the letter of the law, Willis should have administered a count but instead he allowed the action to resume – much to the dismay of observers.
In the immediate aftermath, Davis blamed excess hair grease as the reason for him taking a knee.
“I just got my hair done two days ago and she put grease in my s***,” said Davis post-fight.
“When you are sweating and s*** like that, the grease came into my face and it burnt my eyes.”
A cacophony boos then rang around the packed out Barclays Center.
“Yo why you all booing like I’m talking b*****? Look at my hair, I just got my s*** done,” he shouted.
Davis’ New York-based hairstylist, Lee The Brand, has since spoken out on social media to defend herself.
“I did his hair WEDNESDAY, It’s SATURDAY! He did press, gym and weigh in,” she wrote on Instagram.

“That’s no excuse, how much grease did I use damn.”
She then posted a picture of her studio with the caption: “The grease in the room with us?”
And went on to reveal the exact product she used: conditioning shine, which had ‘no grease’ in it according to the label.
Speaking after the fight, Roach said of the knockdown: “If you voluntarily take a knee and the ref start counting, it should be a knockdown.
“If that’s a knockdown, I win the fight. So, I mean, it is what it is.
“I’m not banking on that knockdown to win. I just thought I pulled it out.
“S***, I hope we can run it back. I want to run it back for sure.”
