CAF is working around the clock to make sure the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Champions (CHAN) is hosted by the three countries; Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Despite challenges with the sporting infrastructure especially stadiums and training facilities, CAF is confident the tournament will go on as earlier scheduled.

After two rounds of inspection last year including CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe visiting in December, the final assessment will be done this week.

A delegation from CAF is already in Nairobi, Kenya where they will inspect facilities like stadiums, training facilities, hotels and airports among others for the next two days.

After Kenya, the team will head to Dar es Salaam Tanzania on Thursday and Friday before wrapping up the inspection in Kampala, Uganda over the weekend.

All the three host nations are making final touches to make sure every box is ticked.

In Uganda, there has been some changes at Mandela National Stadium. For instance, new floodlights have been installed for both the main stadium and the training ground.

At Kadiba Training Facility, the pitch is nearly complete, floodlights have been installed and work on the access roads is underway.

There is also work being done on the other two training facilities namely Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku and Kampala International Schoool Uganda (KISU).

CHAN 2024 is expected to take place between 1st – 28th February 2024.
