After defending the Fufa Super 8 trophy, BUL FC coach Abbey Kikomeko has now set target on winning the elusive league title.
BUL overcame Vipers 6-5 on penalties after a gruelling 120 minutes of no goals at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
Kikomeko was elated with the victory and resilience from his boys against the six-time league champions who were without Allan Okello.
“We came aware that Vipers want to win just like us and we gave it all until the penalty shootout,” he said before revealing the competition has helped in preparing his side for the forthcoming 2024/25 season.
“The tournament has prepared us well given it was against the strongest eight teams. Taking the trophy has also motivated us and we hope for a good start when the season kicks off.
“We finished second, the target is to win the league trophy.”
BUL, despite losing star players Tom Ikara, Ronald Otti and Alex Kitaata, they have done well recruiting youngsters Isaac Wagoina and Dickson Mataama up front as well as adding Najib Fesali and Ramzay Kawooya.
