Jamie Carragher may have inadvertently scuppered Kate Scott’s chances of scooping her first Emmy award – by taking a phone call live on TV.
The Liverpool legend proved there’s never a dull moment inside the CBS Sports Golazo studio ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League quarter-final clashes.

Carragher, along with colleagues Thierry Henry and Micah Richards, regularly leave viewers in stitches following their humorous exchanges.
That was on show on Tuesday night when Richards had to be rebuked by host Scott having left the studio speechless with a cheeky innuendo about a Bayern Munich fan.
And it was Carragher’s turn on Wednesday that had the panel in disbelief having accidentally left his phone on loud instead of on silent.
As Scott was in the middle of speaking, Carragher’s phone went off, which drew an instant sheepish response from the Reds’ all-time record Premier League appearance maker.
Former Manchester City defender Richards simply put his head in his hands, while Scott, who let out a huge shocked gasp, said: “Oh my God, that’s like a cardinal sin on television. Who is it?”
Richards then proceeded to tell Carragher to reject the call, but he was quick to point out that it was his daughter Mia calling.
The 2005 Champions League winner instead answered the call, pointing out that he’s ‘on live TV’, leading an exasperated Richards to quip: “Well, there goes the Emmy.”
His reference comes after Scott was nominated for a Sports Emmy award in the Outstanding Personality/Studio Host category.
As it turned out, model, dancer and actor Mia rung up her dad asking when her mum would be home, resulting in Carragher again informing her he is in London and that he’s unaware of his wife’s whereabouts.
Arsenal legend Henry refused to engage in the conversation and stayed silent as Scott and Richards then encouraged Carragher to put the phone call on speaker.

Richards was quick to jokingly inform Mia how she had interrupted the show, leading the apologetic 20-year-old to say: “Oh my God, I am so sorry.”
Pressed by Scott as to whether she knew her dad was on air, Mia then simply stated: “I didn’t have a clue.”
Scott then posed the question as to whether Carragher is as ‘spiky’ as he is on air on occasions at their home.
To which Mia remarked: “He’s lovely.”
As the panel let out a chorus of ‘Aww’, Carragher then said: “I love you more than anything my dear, what a star.”
Before adding: “There’s nothing this girl can ever do wrong, I can’t ever shout at her.”
After putting the phone down, Scott informed Carragher: “Imagine if anyone else had done that. Imagine if anyone else’s phone had rung on this show.”
Agreeing he wouldn’t have taken it too kindly, Carragher joked: “There would have been murder.”
Scott then issued an apology to CBS’ viewers, before light-heartedly reprimanding Carragher by saying: “It was rude to have your phone [on loud].”
Biting back, Carragher then aimed a sly jibe at Scott’s chances of winning an Emmy, as he said: “She’ll be winning awards in the future, I can assure you.
“She won’t just be nominated.”
But it was all in good fun, with Scott seeing the funny side of his comment, before she wished Mia the best of luck in her career.
