A week after suffering defeat at their home ground, Platinum Credit Heathens and Thunderbirds claimed a remarkable Kyadondo double during the 2024 Gulu 7s.
Thunderbirds beat Black Pearls in the women’s Cup Final by 26-07 points. This was their first appearance in the final after four rounds; having upset series leaders Avengers in the pools on Day One.
Heathens overcame rivals Black Pirates by 12-05 on their third attempt in the men’s Cup Final. They recovered from a shock defeat to Hippos in the pools on Day One.

Thunderbirds’ victory did not change the overall standings one bit but it brought Avengers and Black Pearls to within one point of each other at the top. Heathens’ enabled them to level matters with Pirates.
The next circuit on the 2024 Nile Special 7s calendar, Kyabazinga 7s, will be played on September 14-15 at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe.
