Tommy Fury’s return to the ring has been locked in for January 18.

Fury has been out of action since he beat KSI in October last year and underwent surgery in January to fix a long-standing injury to his right hand.

But the former Love Island star, who endured a high-profile break-up with Molly-Mae Hague in August, will be back in action on January 18 in Manchester as he fights former UFC star Darren Till on a Misfits Boxing card.

Till, who fought and lost to Tyron Woodley in a bout for the UFC welterweight championship in 2018, has just one exhibition boxing bout to his name.

The 31-year-old fought Palestinian MMA star Mohammad Mutie in July this year and beat him via TKO albeit in controversial circumstances as the punch that led to the victory was to the back of Mutie’s head.

Fury’s appearance on a Misfits card comes after the promotion’s chief Mams Taylor revealed he was in talks with the former reality TV star in October about his comeback fight.

“I think Tommy would do really well on the Misfits roster,” Taylor told The Sun.

“And I know our teams are in touch with their team. So watch this space. Let’s see what happens.”

Fury, who holds an unblemished 10-0 record, had been heavily linked with a rematch against KSI as his first bout back from surgery.

The 25-year-old stated he would be open to fighting the YouTube sensation, who is also a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, for a second time, but would have to be handsomely compensated to do so.

“I mean, if his judging skills are anything like his boxing skills, he’s going to be absolutely useless,” Fury told Heart Breakfast.

“Listen, I’ll beat him for a lot of money again. Why not? It is what it is.

“That’s if we can get him off Britain’s Got Talent though.”

As well as a boxing return, Fury had been linked with another appearance on reality TV in the form of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

However, according to The Sun, Fury reportedly backed out of the show just two weeks prior to filming having received a ‘more lucrative’ offer for a rival project.

Many expected that project to be the KSI rematch, but it has now turned out to be a fight against Till.

As for Till, who boasts an 18-5 MMA record, he was initially slated to make his boxing debut against former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson undercard.

However, the fight fell through when Tyson was declared medically unfit to compete due to an ulcer flare-up that left the boxing icon fearing for his life, forcing the fight to be pushed back from July 20 to November 18.

Paul and Tyson eventually got the opportunity to throw down as they fought in front of 80,000 fans inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday.

Unsurprisingly, it was Paul who emerged with the unanimous decision victory over his 58-year-old rival.
