West Ham attempted an ambitious January swoop for Real Madrid starlet Endrick, talkSPORT understands.
Sources have told talkSPORT London Stadium officials made contact with the Spanish giants after being given encouragement that he may be available on loan.

Endrick has struggled for game time this season, with just two of his 21 appearances coming as a starter.
He has played just 89 minutes of LaLiga action spread across 14 outings.
The deal would have been one of the more eye-catching ones of the window.
But ultimately, Real were not willing to allow Brazilian international Endrick, 18, to leave.
West Ham signed Evan Ferguson instead after also failing with two offers for Jhon Duran.
It’s a Vlad world
West Ham turned down several deadline day offers from Fulham for defender Vladimir Coufal.
Fulham were trying to get a deal done with their London neighbours as the Czech Republic international was playing for the Hammers in their 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.
talkSPORT understands Coufal only found out about the Cottagers’ interest in signing him after the game had finished, around an hour before the window slammed shut.
Coufal’s future at London Stadium remains uncertain with his contract due to expire in the summer.
The 32-year-old has featured in 15 Premier League games this term – starting eight times.

On Red alert
Manchester United sent scouts to watch Sunderland’s north east derby win at Middlesbrough to run fresh checks on midfielder Chris Rigg.
As previously reported in this notebook, United are among a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing Rigg, who turns 18 in June.
The Tyneside-born midfielder is regarded as the best player to come out of the Championship since Jude Bellingham.
In 26 Championship fixtures this term, the teenager has chipped in with four goals and one assist.
With United balancing delicate PSR issues, Rigg is seen by INEOS as a young player available for a reasonable price with future sell-on potential.

Bright idea
Brighton plan to revisit their interest in Sunderland teen sensation Tommy Watson in the summer.
The Seagulls spent all of transfer deadline day trying to negotiate with the Black Cats over a deal for 18-year-old Watson.
England under-18 international Watson was prepared to travel to the south coast for a medical.
But Sunderland were reluctant to let Watson go without sourcing a replacement after Brighton’s Simon Adingra rejected a potential swap deal.
Watson, who has scored two Championship goals in ten outings, has 18 months left on his deal in Wearside.
